Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a family of mixed blood. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, as is her mom who's English. She grew on the south London council estate and when she was fourteen, she attended The Brit School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She appeared on stage in several productions as a student like the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine, and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career in the film Storm Damage. Over the past few years Madekwe's appearance in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe's debut film was that of the Woody Allen 2007 film Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. After the film's success, Madekwe played Elisha on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured in six episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe was also the main character on How to lose friends & betray people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment the year 2008. Her credits in the theatre include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe debuted in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show aired on The CW for only two episodes before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. In May of 2013, it was revealed that Madekwe, who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the past two seasons, had decided to quit the show with a guest appearance on the first episode of the season's new episode. She starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem from 2014 to 2016. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. Alongside Secret Diary of a Call Girl they also appeared with each other on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had an appearance with her on that show.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into an extended family of. Her parents Roy and Patty and her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's brothers were athletic and played baseball in summer as well as hockey in winter. Ashley had never been able to walk. She would dance. At two and a half, she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered her love for dance at this age. Ashley continued to compete through high school graduation, with top divisions like tap, Jazz, Ballet and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and more. Ashley took home the best soloist prize at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among some.
