Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimmyenezon September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. In Mexico, she began her professional career in the role of Teresa in the Telenovela (1989-1991) as well as El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), where she received an Ariel Award. With appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999), she quickly made her mark in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal as Frida, the painter, in Frida (2002) the film that she also directed as well, resulted in Hayek the first Mexican actress to receive the Academy Award [6]. It also earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination, Screen Actors Guild Award nomination as well as British Academy Film Award nominations. In subsequent years, Hayek focused more on filmmaking while also appearing in action-oriented films such as Once Upon a Time in Mexico
